SMS Privacy Policy

WorkHub SMS Notification Program • Effective September 1, 2026

This SMS Privacy Policy describes how SMC Contracting (“SMC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects mobile phone numbers and related information in connection with our WorkHub SMS Notification Program (the “Program”). WorkHub is the field operations and ticketing application used by SMC employees, project managers, trucking personnel, and the general contractors we work with.

1. Information We Collect

When you participate in the Program, we collect the following information:

Mobile phone number — provided by you (or, for SMC team members, entered by an authorized SMC administrator when your WorkHub account is created) so that we can send you text messages.
Your name and role — for example, employee, project manager, trucking project manager, or general contractor representative, so that we send you only the messages relevant to you.
Consent records — the date, time, and method by which you agreed to receive text messages from SMC.
Message activity — the messages we send you, your replies (for example, a reply to approve a ticket, or the words STOP or HELP), and delivery status information provided by our messaging service provider.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use mobile phone numbers and the information listed above only to operate the Program. Specifically, we use it to:

Send one-time PIN codes for WorkHub account invitations, sign-in verification, and password resets.
Send operational notifications to SMC team members, such as ticket status changes, approvals and rejections, scheduling updates, and other job-related alerts.
Send time-and-materials (T&M) ticket approval requests to general contractor representatives, and record the reply so that the approval is tied to the correct ticket.
Respond to your requests, including HELP and STOP requests.
Maintain records of consent and message delivery as required by law and by wireless carrier policies.

The Program is informational and transactional. We do not use the Program to send advertising or promotional messages.

3. We Do Not Share Mobile Information for Marketing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with, sold to, rented to, or transferred to any third party.

We share mobile phone numbers only with the service providers that help us deliver text messages (for example, our SMS messaging platform provider and the wireless carriers), and only for the purpose of delivering Program messages on our behalf. These providers are not permitted to use your information for any other purpose. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SMC, our employees, or others.

4. How You Opt In

You will receive text messages from SMC only after you have agreed to receive them. Depending on your relationship with SMC, consent is collected in one of the following ways:

SMC team members agree to receive WorkHub text messages when they accept their WorkHub account invitation and confirm their mobile phone number in the WorkHub app.
General contractor representatives agree to receive ticket approval requests by providing their mobile phone number to SMC for that purpose as part of the project’s ticket approval process.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of employment, of doing business with SMC, or of purchasing any goods or services.

5. How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you send STOP, we will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent to your number unless you opt back in. Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us using the information below.

Please note that if you are an SMC team member and you opt out, you will no longer receive WorkHub PIN codes or job notifications by text; you can still use email and the WorkHub app for these functions.

6. Data Retention

We keep mobile phone numbers and consent records for as long as you participate in the Program and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to document your consent and opt-out, to resolve disputes, and to comply with legal and carrier requirements. Ticket approval replies from general contractors are retained as part of the job record for that ticket.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information collected through the Program. Mobile phone numbers are stored within WorkHub’s access-controlled systems and are available only to authorized SMC personnel and the service providers described above.

8. Children

The Program is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect mobile phone numbers from anyone under the age of 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this SMS Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued participation in the Program after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
